I'm currently a PhD Candidate in Geophysics at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. I received my BA and MSc in Natural Sciences (Earth Sciences) from the University of Cambridge, UK.
My scientific research focuses on the possible environmental impacts of the deep-sea mining industry using analog laboratory experiments.Â
I am also interested in the broader scientific, regulatory, and geopolitical challenges associated with deep-sea mining. Particularly how scientific evidence can support decision-making in environmental governance frameworks, ensuring accountability during resource extraction in areas beyond national jurisdiction.
My work has been generously funded and supported by the Canadian Government via the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship, Deep Ocean Stewardship Initiative the UBC School of Public Policy and Global Relations via the Liu Scholarship.
